Since The Jackson 5 took the stage back in the sixties, the success and evolution of boy bands have made a big stamp on the music industry. Baggy jeans replaced bell-bottoms and now there are skinny jeans, but as fashions change, music skills continue to grow stronger making boy bands among the top selling music acts.

There are many that have graced the stage, but we’ve narrowed it down to the top 5 Best Boy Bands Of All Time. Here is the list, excluding The Jackson 5:

  1. Backstreet Boys
Formed in 1993, this boy band has sold over 130 million records and is considered the best-selling boy band of all time. Yes, that’s more than The Jackson 5 who have sold over 100 million. Sometimes referred to as BSB, they recently got back in the recording studio and went on tour with another acclaimed boy band, New Kids On The Block.

  2. *NSYNC
This friendly boy band rival of the Backstreet Boys is where Justin Timberlake really developed his skills. Formed in 1995, *NSYNC was the opening act for Janet Jackson’s Velvet Rope Tour in 1998. They disband in 2002 and there is no word of a reunion yet.
  3. Jonas Brothers
From the success and fame of the Disney Channel, this trio boy band won the Grammy for Best New Artist in 2008. They certainly carry the flavor of brotherhood like The Jackson 5. Unlike many boy bands, these guys play instruments.
  4. Boyz II Men
Boyz II Men ABC BBD - Talk about lyrics that really stick with you. “Motownphilly” is definitely back again and again with this boy band. Their single “End of The Road” broke Elvis Presley’s record on the Billboard Hot 100 by staying at the top number 1 spot for 13 weeks. They have ties to other successful nineties boy bands such as Bell Biv DeVoe and our last top 5 boy band of…
  5. New Edition
Besides The Jackson 5, this boy band really lead the way to all of the bands on our list. Formed in 1978, this is where Bobby Brown got his start before he left in 1986 to pursue a solo career.

Did we miss any boy bands you think should make the list? We mentioned New Kids On The Block (NKOTB) but did not include them. Should we have? What are your favorite boy bands? Let us know in the comments section below.
