FULL BACKSTREET BOYS REUNION WILL HAPPEN ONE DAY, SAYS HOWIE

Backstreet Boys reunion
Not long ago, there were reports that the Backstreet Boys’ Kevin Richardson, who left the group in 2006, would be reuniting with them for a show in the Bahamas in December — and that Kevin said he wouldn’t be adverse to doing more appearances with the group. But the group’s Howie Dorough tells ABC News Radio that Kevin will not be performing with them in the Bahamas at a concert — he’ll simply be appearing with them at a big “beach party” they’re throwing for their fans as part of the Backstreet Boys Fan Cruise. As for a reunion with Kevin in the future, though, Howie’s confident that it will take place. “I do see down the road, one day, us all being back onstage together,” he tells ABC News Radio. “I really look forward to that, you know. And, I think when the timing’s right and the stars all align, it’ll happen.”

Why is he so sure? Because there was no drama over Kevin’s departure from the group, as Howie points out. “The door has always been open for Kevin,” he explains, noting that the group has managed to stay together for 19 years because they’ve “always had an open policy of just communicating with each other.” Howie says that the motto among the Backstreet Boys has always been, “If you have a passion that you want to do something separately, then let’s make it work out. If…you just feel like you need to have some space for yourself, and…maybe do something totally different in life, then we’re all behind you.

Howie will release his first-ever solo album, Back to Me, on November 15. On November 20, he’ll kick off a series of dates opening for old pal Britney Spears in South America. After that, the group will host its fan cruise, and then group memberA.J. McLean is getting married on December 17. Come 2012, the Backstreet Boys and New Kids on the Block will hit the road together again for a European tour. When asked if he thinks ’N SYNC should reunite and tour as well, Howie said, “You know, I’m all behind every [boy band] getting back together….I believe that we all came from a great synergy of pop music. And, I think there’s….still a void out there [for that music]. We made a lot of people happy back in the days.”
