Howie Dorough will be act that opens the concert of Britney Spears in Bogotá. He is a member of the Backstreet Boys, a band that since 1996 has released 7 studio albums, 3 recompilations, 24 singles and 24 music videos. Their most recent CD was “NKOTBSB,” a compilation released this year which has the best songs of the group and their colleagues The New Kids on the Block.
Dorough’s solo projects are concentrated in musical production and acting. In this last role he took part in the TV series “Sabrina the Teenage Witch” in the episode, “The Big Head”. He also lent his voice to the role of Father Christmas (Santa) in Nickelodeon’s animated series, “Dora the Explorer” in the Christmas episode, “A Gift for Santa”.
The artist has Latin roots since his mother is Puerto Rican. He is the youngest of 5 siblings, and when one of them died in 1998 from Lupus he created a foundation to raise the public awareness about the illness, and also to provide financial support to people who cannot affort treatment for the disease.
Howie will be be the first act this upcoming November 26th at Simon Bolivar Park in Bogotá, the venue where Britney Spears will be performing as part of her “Femme Fatale Tour” which will also include stops in Rio de Janerio, Sao Paulo, La Plata (Argentina) and Lima.
